This three-bedroom linked townhouse is arranged over two floors, with the bedrooms upstairs.

Approach

Villa Somerset is located in an attractive new development of linked townhouses arranged around a communal swimming pool and sun terrace. There are well-kept communal gardens with lawns dotted with palms and shrubs. There is also an allocated parking space.

Ground Floor

The front door opens to a small hallway, with doors to the open-plan living and dining room. The attractive living area has a cream L-shaped sofa arranged around a coffee table and television with some satellite channels. There is a DVD player with a selection of DVDs available and also a CD player. There is a corner fireplace and a dining table with eight chairs. French windows open to a small patio and shared gardens with access to the swimming pool.

The kitchen is light and spacious, with fitted shaker-style units and a circular breakfast table and chairs. It has an oven, hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. Adjacent to the kitchen is a guest shower room with a shower, WC and washbasin.

First Floor

There are three bedrooms on the first floor which are all bright and modern with contemporary style furnishings. There is a twin bedroom which has fitted wardrobes and a small safe. The second twin room shares a small private balcony with the double bedroom. The balcony is equipped with a small table and chairs and offers scenic views over the surrounding area to the ocean. The double bedroom has an en suite bathroom with a bath, WC and washbasin. There is also a separate full bathroom.

Outside

The townhouse overlooks a small area of lawn, with a pathway leading to a large communal sun terrace and oval shaped pool. There are sun-loungers and parasols around the pool and a separate children’s splash pool ideal for young children. There is also a children’s play area.

Location

Villa Somerset is located in an attractive new development of smart townhouses in the Balaia area, just 2km east of Albufeira. Balaia beach is only 1.5km away, and there are a number of sandy beaches to explore, all within a short drive. There are shops and restaurants within walking distance, making it easy to pop out for fresh bread or an evening meal. For two families or a group of friends travelling together, a neighbouring property, Villa Leonilde, is also available to rent.

Formerly a small Portuguese fishing village, Albufeira has grown into a large, popular coastal resort whilst retaining much of its old fashioned charm. The old Moorish part of town has narrow cobbled streets and white-washed fishermen’s cottages, in contrast to the main tourist centre with its large range of shops and restaurants serving international food. The famous ‘Strip’ is just under 2km from the villa and is lined with restaurants, bars and nightclubs for lively evening entertainment. Browse the markets for a souvenir or take a trip to Guia a little further north, where you will find the huge Algarve Shopping mall with a selection of over one hundred shops including a hypermarket, a range of clothes stores and a multiscreen cinema and bowling alley.

When it comes to leisure, you have plenty of options nearby. 2km away is the Balaia Golf Village resort, with a scenic 9-hole course. Balaia Beach is a picturesque crescent of gently sloping sand leading to warm shallow waters, making it very popular with families with young children. You can also choose from a variety of water sports including water skiing, jet skiing, and sailing. For family entertainment, there are lots of water parks in the region, including Aqualand 15km away near Alcanterilha, and the Slide and Splash water park at Estombar, to the east of Lagoa. Zoomarine is a popular attraction at Guia, with exotic birds and marine animals including dolphins and sharks on show.
