Villa Sophie is a single storey villa where the living and sleeping accommodation are all on the same level.

Villa Sophie is a single storey villa which has a pleasant driveway of carefully manicured hedges and flowers and a pretty courtyard with traditional tiles flanking the front door. The villa benefits from a large kitchen which has space for a breakfast table and chairs, ideal for those early morning meals. The room is fully equipped with hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, washing machine and dishwasher, and has wooden base and eye level units. The living/dining room has white walls and wooden floors which make the room feel fresh and airy. There is comfortable seating for your party along with a television which has some satellite channels and DVD and CD player. The room has French windows which open out onto the covered furnished terrace overlooking the large L-shaped pool.

Villa Sophie is a three bedroom property with two double bedrooms and one twin bedroom. One of the double bedrooms has large fitted cupboards, but all are furnished with ample storage space. The three rooms share the separate bathroom, which has bath, overhead shower, wc and washbasin and the separate shower room.

Outside

The spacious pool terrace has a large L-shaped pool (8m x 4m x 1-2m deep) and the tiled patio is furnished with sun loungers for those who enjoy sunbathing, and parasols for those who prefer the refuge of the shade. The villa is equipped with a barbecue and outdoor dining furniture to take advantage of dining out in the warm summer evenings. White-washed walls surround the pool area, backed with pretty flowering plants and mature trees which ensure the privacy of the area and dapple the pool with shade.

A beautiful feature of Villa Sophie is its impressive roof terrace. Spectacular views of the spiky tropical plants and lush green trees of the Algarve are laid out before you, and the blue ocean glitters on the horizon. This is a perfect escape into the silence and peace of a relaxing villa holiday beneath the warm Algarve sun.

Location

Villa Sophie enjoys an ideal location within easy walking distance of the centre of the pretty coastal town of Carvoeiro. The closest restaurant is only 700m away, perfect for an evening out with no drive home.

Originally a sleepy fishing village, Carvoeiro has blossomed into a thriving resort in recent years but still managed to retain its original charm. The colourful fishing boats line the shore, and locally caught fresh fish is available in the restaurants that line the pretty bay. The small beach is popular in the high season, and sheltered by cliffs on two sides. Boat trips are available for you to explore the many secluded bays of the nearby coastline. Wandering down the cobbled streets of the old town, you will find quaint shops filled with traditional handicrafts and market stalls filled with locally produced fresh produce.

Carvoeiro is a popular destination for those who enjoy golf, and is well served with courses. The three main courses in resort are Vale do Milho, Vale da Pinta and Quinta do Gramacho, but further along the coast are other fine courses such as Alto Golf at Alvor.

There are other sports available in resort for enthusiasts, including tennis courts and horse riding, not to mention fishing trips and a wealth of water sports within easy reach. For those with children, there is much on offer. Slide and Splash (EN125 5 minutes from Lagoa) water part is a favourite for families with young children. At Zoomarine, near Albufeira (30km) there are dolphin displays, sea lions and seals and the over eights can join the dolphins in the water. Krazy world has 2 mini golf courses as well as a small Zoo and is located at Guia (20km)

The Monchique mountains are half an hours drive away to the north past Portimao, and well worth a visit if you fancy a little fresh air. Visit the cobbles streets of Monchique town or Foia which is 906m above sea level. A lovely trip on the way back down the mountains is to visit Caldos Monchique and sample some of the mountain spring water to be found there.

For those who enjoy to spend time out on the beautiful Atlantic Ocean, there are a number of boat trips which leave from the harbour at Portimao. Take a trip along the coast to visit some of the local caves, or perhaps take a wild dolphin spotting trip. There are also some companies which will take you out big game fishing if you prefer to try something a little different.
