The villa is laid out on two levels, with one bedroom downstairs and two bedrooms upstairs.

Approach

Villa Yvette is built on large grounds in an exclusive residencia near Lagos. A private driveway leading to the rear of the villa provides guests with ample parking space. Set in lush gardens, the primrose-yellow villa enjoys panoramic views of the verdant Algarve countryside.

Ground Floor

The front door opens into the entrance hall and through double doors to the spacious living and dining area. This light and airy space is partially separated by a contemporary dual-aspect fireplace.
The living area has comfortable sofas and an armchair arranged around a coffee table and soft rug. You will also find a TV with satellite channels, DVD player and CD stereo. There is plenty of room here for the whole family to relax, whether playing a game of cards or curling up in front of a DVD. Natural light pours in through the French windows which lead out to the pool terrace.

Inside the contemporary dining room is a pale wood dining table to seat six, and an elegant wrought-iron chandelier light. Sheer drapes hang down beside French windows that look out over the gardens and seemingly endless countryside.

Walking back towards the double doors, you turn left into the stylish kitchen. Fully equipped, this high specification kitchen has a central island with gas hob, chrome oven, American-style fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine.

The downstairs bedroom is to the left of the double doors. Comfortably furnished, the bedroom has wrought-iron twin beds, fitted wardrobes and an en suite bathroom. Sheer drapes hang down in front of French windows that lead out to the garden. There is also a guest cloakroom downstairs.

First Floor

Upstairs are the master bedroom and another twin bedroom. Walking into the spacious master bedroom, you are greeted by panoramic views of the beautiful Algarve countryside. Light and airy, the master bedroom has three sets of French windows leading to a large balcony – the perfect place to enjoy that first cup of morning coffee. The fully-tiled en suite bathroom features a corner bath, and adjacent to the bedroom is a large walk-in wardrobe with plenty of storage space.

Across the landing is the twin bedroom with equally breath-taking views. Comfortably furnished, the bedroom has fitted wardrobes and an en suite bathroom. French windows lead out to a balcony where you can enjoy the morning sunshine in complete privacy.

Outside

From the living and dining room, you step out onto a spacious, partially covered terrace with panoramic views in every direction. Beyond the manicured lawns you can see verdant meadows stretching back to gently undulating hills in the distance. A few steps away is the rectangular pool with roman steps leading into the water. Beside the pool is small, circular “Japanese bath”, or spa bath which soothes aching muscles with streaming jets of water. Both the pool and Japanese bath can be heated during cooler months.

Surrounding the villa and pool terrace are lush gardens with extensive lawns. Bordered by leafy fruit trees and fragrant pines, the lawn makes a great play area for the children or a peaceful retreat where you to enjoy a good book. You will also find a built-in barbeque that’s perfect for al fresco dining. Simply allow the supper to sizzle on the grill while you watch the sky turn pink over the distant hills. Villa Yvette is the perfect choice for guests who appreciate total privacy and beautiful, quiet surroundings.

Additional Information

The pool can be heated for an additional supplement of £130, plus an initial pre-heating charge of £45.
Air-conditioning is available in the master bedroom only, for an additional supplement of £40 per week. Under-floor heating is available for an additional charge of electricity usage at local rates.

Location

Villa Yvette is located in countryside near the village of Bensafrim, just 10km from Lagos. Only 3km away, Bensafrim has a number of small shops including a pharmacy, mini-market, bakery, butcher and a typical Portuguese restaurant serving regional dishes
Around Lagos are several lovely beaches, the nearest being Porto de Mos, 10km away.
The closest golf course is Palmares Golf, a picturesque 18-hole course in Lagos.

For dining and shopping, head to the historic maritime city of Lagos. A ten minute drive brings you to this relaxed and charming city, which offers a great selection of restaurants – most of which are found in the pedestrianised street. Lined with open-air cafes, the main square of Praca da Republica is the best place to indulge in a cool drink and a spot of people watching. There are often lots of street entertainers as well; everything from magicians to clowns and living statues. Proud of its history, Lagos played an important part in the Age of Discovery and Henry the Navigator had his ships built here. It was also home to some of the earliest slave markets. Its rich, long history ensures that there are plenty of buildings and historic sites worth visiting; the governor’s castle and the church of St Sebastian being two of them.

• Lagos Zoo: set in lovely landscaped gardens with exotic plants, this zoo contains 250 different animals and offers the chance to get close to a variety of species. There is an educational farm, souvenir shop and restaurant. Located between Sao Joao and Bensafrim.
• Slide and Splash: one of Europe’s biggest water parks, it aims to keep you busy for a whole day with is range of plunging and gentle slides, swimming pools and a lazy rubber ring river. Located near Lagoa.
