Approach

Vista Montanha is located along a country road, where detached villas nestle among leafy gardens. There is off-road parking on the driveway.

Ground Floor

The front door opens into a grand reception hall, with marble floors and a staircase leading upstairs. On the left is a comfortable twin bedroom, with a fitted wardrobe and an adjacent bathroom. This bedroom looks out past leafy green shrubs to the pool terrace.

Straight ahead, double doors open into the spacious living and dining room. On the right is the living area, with comfortable sofas positioned around a coffee table in front of an open fireplace. There is also a satellite with satellite channels, DVD player and CD stereo – perfect for when it’s time for the children out of the sun. On the left is the dining area, with a wooden dining table to seat six. Natural light streams in through the two sets of patio doors, allowing you to enjoy sweeping countryside views from inside.

The kitchen is located through a doorway from the dining area. Extremely spacious and fully equipped, the kitchen has a hob, oven, microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. There is also a breakfast table that seats six. The side door leads out to the barbeque terrace, making it easy to carry fresh ingredients out to the grill. The washing machine and tumble dryer are located in the laundry room and are for use by the maid only.

First Floor

Upstairs, the landing leads to two double bedrooms. The master bedroom has a queen-sized bed and an en suite bathroom with a bath and separate shower cubicle. Doors lead out to a spacious balcony terrace overlooking the pool terrace, perfect for secluded sunbathing. The other room has a double bed, a shower room and doors to a smaller balcony.
From the landing, doors lead to a rear balcony with table and chairs – the ideal place to relax with a glass of chilled wine and enjoy the views of the distant Monchique Mountains.

Outside

The living room patio doors lead out to a partially covered terrace with garden furniture. Looking out over the rolling green countryside, this is a lovely spot for leisurely al fresco dining. Steps lead down to the spacious pool terrace, where there are plenty of sunloungers to stretch out on, either in the sunshine or under a parasol. The large pool features Roman-style steps leading gently into the water for easy access. There is a stone barbeque in the corner of the pool terrace, and a path leading around to the kitchen door. Surrounding the pool terrace are grassy lawns bordered by verdant hedges for privacy.

Location

  • Centianes beach 1.5 km

  • Mini-market 0.5 km

  • Restaurant 0.5 km

  • Vale do Milho 2.5 km

  • 60.0 km from Faro

Vista Montanha is located in countryside 4km east of Carvoeiro. There are a handy mini-market and restaurant just a 500m stroll from the villa, and a large supermarket 2km down the road. The friendly fishing village of Carvoeiro is only 3km away, and offers a wider selection of shops and restaurants as well as a sandy beach with wheelchair/pushchair access. Vale do Milho Golf is 2.5km away.
The coastline east of Carvoeiro has a number of sandy coves worth visiting. Centianes a pretty cove backed by a dramatic sandstone cliff, 1.5km away. There is a restaurant perched on the clifftop, and a long ramp down to the beach. Carvalho beach, 3km away, is a beautiful beach with a strange twist: rather than following a straight path down to the beach, you can choose from a number of different paths, steps and sandstone tunnels. Once you arrive, you’ll be glad you didn’t miss out on the gently sloping sands and sparkling turquoise waters.
Once a quiet fishing village, Carvoeiro has steadily grown throughout the years to incorporate the flourishing tourist trade. Its streets are lined with shops, bars and restaurants and market stalls selling fresh, local goods. Its sandy beach is very popular and offers water sports in high season, but is quite small and can become crowded. Although now a bustling place in summer, the essence of the sleepy village still remains in the local fisherman who sail the seas and bring home their catches, sorting them in the harbour.

For those with kids, good family attractions nearby include…
• Aqualand Water Park – Located in Alcantarilha, this water park has plenty of slides and flumes to scream your way down and rapids where you can float along in rubber rings. Buses run from Armacao de Pera.
• ZooMarine – an ocean theme park set amongst lakes and gardens with exhibitions, shows and rides to entertain the whole family. Has a large range of marine animals from sea lions and dolphins to turtles and exotic birds.
• Krazy World – a family attractions site with a small zoo that has live animal shows throughout the summer and aims to inspire children about conservation. There is also a petting zoo (with camels and llamas!), pony rides and mini-golf so there’s enough to keep the whole family occupied for a day.

The villa was beautiful, exactly as descibed. Modern bright and spacios with a fantastic pool, we couldn't have hoped for better.

Although a car was essential we were well placed for easy access to all amenities and some beautiful beaches. Nice quite location.

The villa we chose was very suitable for us as we had privacy and it was peaceful. You must have a vehicle to stay there as you cannot walk to any required amenities.

carvoeiro is very pleasant and has all you need for a beach holiday. We went to one restaurant and had no complaints. We have always found supermarkets in the area to be good and we generally make the most we can of the barbecue wherever we stay.

Service received from Villas to Go staff was reliable and it is easy to speak to someone if you need to. Villa had been accurately described and was managed and maintained well. Information regarding resort was also accurate and appropriate.

For a family Carvoiero is the ideal combination of a resort that is neither quiet or busy. It has plenty of restaurants to suit every taste (and every cuisine!), as well as bars for the young and trendy. However, you do not have noisy nightclubs with drunks out on the street you would rather your family kept away from! Plenty of beaches to choose from and day trips for the kids. Perfect!

The villa was really lovely and the staff we encountered over there spoke excellent english and were very helpful and courteous.

If you enjoy exploring, the hill towns away from the coast such as Loule portray a traditional view of Portuguese life with less tourist influence and restaurant prices were also lower as you eat where the locals go to eat, communication was never difficult there is always an English speaker around if you don't speak Portuguese.

we mostly cooked in at night. local supermarket & town mercado at Lagoa carried a good range of local produce especially the fish!! the bar b que facility at the villa was first rate.
