This villa offers two storey accommodation with the main living rooms, three bedrooms and two bathrooms on the ground floor and a further double bedroom and bathroom on the first floor.

Ground Floor

The open plan living area’s white painted walls and tiled floor give it a light and airy feel and the room is very well furnished with striped two and three seater sofas positioned around a coffee table in front of a large fireplace with a brick chimney. There is a sizeable dining table with ladder back chairs set under a window at the far end of the room. The television is housed in a wooden corner unit and has some satellite channels and also a DVD player which is useful for keeping the children amused out of the hot midday sun.

The bright and sunny kitchen is fitted with wooden units and a pale marble worktop and has two windows facing out towards the front of the property. The kitchen is equipped with a hob, oven, fridge/freezer and microwave, with the washing machine being located in a separate utility area.

Three of the villa’s four bedrooms are located on the ground floor. There are two double rooms and one twin, all individually and stylishly furnished, with patio doors leading to the covered terrace which surrounds the villa. One of the double rooms has an en suite bathroom with a bath and overhead shower, WC, washbasin and bidet and there is a further separate family bathroom with similar facilities.

First Floor

The first floor bedroom has a double bed and benefits from access to a first floor balcony with lovely views of the surrounding area. There is a separate full bathroom on this floor.

Outside

All the rooms have access to a covered terrace which encircles the ground floor of the villa. The lawn and pool area is on a slightly lower level and is reached via steps from the covered terrace. The unusual L-shaped pool has ladder steps and is bordered by a large sun terrace with ample space for soaking up the Algarve sun on the sun-loungers provided. There is a convenient open poolside shower and a built-in barbecue for cooking al fresco meals.

Location

Vivenda Sousa is an attractive family villa, ideally located for Praia da Gale beach and with a good range of local amenities. The nearest restaurant is just 300m away. A few minutes drive from the lively resort of Albufeira, Gale has become popular in its own right due to its vast expanse of golden sand which is lined with beach bars and restaurants. Here you can simply soak up the sun on the beach or try some of the water sports on offer including scuba diving and wind surfing. If you are looking for peace and tranquility, nearby Castelo, Coehla and Sao Rafael beaches have a selection of hidden little coves at the foot of dramatic red sandstone cliffs.

Formerly a small Portuguese fishing village, Albufeira has grown into a large, popular coastal resort whilst retaining much of its old fashioned charm. The old Moorish part of town has narrow cobbled streets and white-washed fishermen’s cottages, in contrast to the main tourist centre with its large range of shops and restaurants serving international food. The famous ‘Strip’ is lined with restaurants, bars and nightclubs for lively evening entertainment. Browse the markets for a souvenir or take a trip to Guia a little further north, where you will find the huge Algarve Shopping mall with a selection of over one hundred shops including a hypermarket, a range of clothes stores and a multiscreen cinema and bowling alley.

There are many superb golf courses in the Algarve, the nearest being the 18-hole course at Salgados Golf which backs onto the sand dunes at Gale beach with lovely views across the Atlantic. For family entertainment, there are lots of water parks in the region, including Aqualand 15km away near Alcanterilha, and Slide and Splash at Estombar, to the east of Lagoa. Zoomarine is a popular attraction at Guia, with exotic birds and marine animals including dolphins and sharks on show.
