Zakros is furnished and decorated in a Greek traditional style but nonetheless offers very comfortable accommodation with modern touches.

Lower Floor

The pale walls and warm floors of this lovely villa make for a cool and calm interior – a haven away from the heat of the midday sunshine.

On the lower floor are the bedrooms. One has a large metal framed double bed, a bedside cabinet and dressing table. The other is a twin room, but both bedrooms have doors which lead directly out onto the pool terrace, with its excellent views of the surrounding countryside. There is a separate shower room complete with hydro massage shower.

Upper Floor

On the upper level, you will find a large open plan living room with terracotta tiles that feel cool underfoot in the heat of the day. The living area has sofa beds which are gathered around a large open fireplace, and the room has a satellite television, DVD and CD radio. Patio doors open from the living room onto a terrace which overlooks the pool area and has views of the sea. A beautiful stone archway leads into the dining area where a large wooden table and seating for six can be found in front of a window streaming with light. The kitchen area comes equipped with a microwave and washing machine.

Outside

The large rectangular pool (8m x 4m, 1.6m deep) has a ladder and a small paddling pool at one end, ideal for little children to take advantage of in the summer sun. Large sun terracing surrounds the pool, and the garden is laid to lawn, and exotic trees and small shrubs give a lush feel to the immediate surrounds. There is a stone built barbecue for you to take advantage of the warm evenings, with a little al fresco dining – this is a great place to watch the sun set over the sea.

In a superb location, far from the busy resorts of the northern coast, there are many beaches, pretty villages and archaeological sites to explore, neaby Faistos being one of the most famous.
