Guide to Algarve Villa Holidays
Algarve at a glance
The Algarve is one of our most popular destinations with over 100 miles of golden sandy beaches, more than 300 days sunshine a year and temperatures that rarely drop below 16 degrees Celsius. Our Algarve villas and apartments cover the breadth of this region, from coastal villas with sea views and easy access to beaches, to countryside houses set in the Monchique Mountains.Steeped in Moorish history, the Algarve extends from Cape St Vincent in the West to Rio Guandiana on the Spanish Border and is the most south westerly region of Europe. The derivation of the name Algarve even comes from the Moorish term for this area, ‘Al-Gharb’ meaning west.
This area has managed to retain its character and charm in the face of increasing tourism and development, with up-market resorts featuring superb championship golf courses coexisting with the many picturesque fishing villages and rural communities.
For those that are lured by the Blue Flag beaches but would prefer the tranquillity of their own Algarve villa close by, we have a number of beautiful villas and apartments within walking distance to beaches in Albuferia, Carvoeiro, Vale do Lobo, Luz and many other towns. Almost all of our villas have private pools, and if not, are close to communal pool facilities.
Despite being a big draw for sun, sea and sand worshippers, there’s more to the Algarve than just the coastline though. Head just a few miles inland and you’ll soon discover the ‘real’ Portugal, whether you’re exploring the traditional town of Loule – famous for its craftworks of copper, brass and clay, or the ancient walled castle at Silves (once the capital of the Algarve). And if you want to set up semi-permanent camp there, our holiday villas should be just the ticket! Nestled amongst citrus orchards, olives and almond groves, our villas in the Algarve countryside offer their occupants a spot of serenity from which to explore this fantastic region.
For the sporty and those with energetic children in tow, the Algarve delivers on action too. Due to the year round good weather, visitors are able to enjoy over 30 world class golf courses, tennis, horse riding and deep sea fishing, uninterrupted throughout the year. Dotted along the coast are a heap of water sports activities for all ages, and as a special treat for the little ones (and the big kids) – there’s the fabulous water park and crazy golf at Algoz. So, if a fabulous climate, variety and culture are your villa holiday criteria, we’re confident you’ll love the Algarve.

Go to the Algrave for the beach
On the south coast of Portugal, the Algarve has over 100 miles of white sand, making the area perfect for beach holidays. The coastline has a wide choice of sandy beaches beside the clear azure ocean, a refreshing place to cool down after a day of baking in the warm sun. To the west, small coves and sweeping inlets are backed by dramatic rock formations and cliffs. Wide golden sandy beaches are plentiful so whatever you choose to do, there is something to suit you.Go to the Algarve for shopping
